I was deeply troubled this particular Sunday because of numerous political events. As a result, I found myself journaling and contemplating my fears. In the midst of writing, I began to receive the below message. It was poignant and full of love, despite its warning undertones of our own accountability. May you find it brings you comfort & awareness as it did for me. (And remember, when I share these I share then as they are received. The use of the word God can be substituted for whatever Higher Power best serves you. It is the intent of the message that matters, not the terminology.)

Do not run to God and say ‘save me’ when the first question asked from Him will be –  ‘Why did you not save yourself?’

I gave you the tools. I set before you that which you needed to guide you and you did not heed the warning or take My advice. Now, in the hour of need, you seek my salvation when it has been given all along. You chose against Me time and time again believing that the easy answer was in the salvation of mankind to save you – he who would remedy your problems and make them go away. But has he? Or, has man betrayed you – either from his own ignorance or because of his desire for deception and greed?

God does not desire deception or greed but only asks love and fealty, and for it He rewards those who serve with a glad and willing heart. To come to God in fear and for redemption is simply another way we expect to be redeemed without the effort or work.

To truly put forth one’s soul for God is to say “I serve,’ not to say ‘you must save me.’

Does God save and offer salvation?

Always, but it must be earned, and with efforts and service, not with mere words, or else you are no more than the man who speaks to one of health then prescribes the pill that only stays the wound but does not heal it. This is not salvation. This is starvation. This is not how God works, and one who comes to Him without a contrite heart is one who hears not His words. How can be it any less than this?

So do not take God for a fool, for He is not. He knows the heart and mind in a way like no other. Do you desire salvation and removal of fear and tragedy, or do you serve from love and a desire to be a part of his army? These are not the same.

All are welcome under God’s protection but one must also be worthy to accept that salvation and protection. We are not merely worthy in act and deed, by showing our neighbors we attend church or avow Christ. This is an act portrayed by some to contemplate holiness based only on fear. But it is not love. God asks for love, not simple condolences of an empty heart, and be assured He will know your desires.

Mark my words, many who hear His voice do not pray or contemplate those words but would rather remain numb to the Voice within and carry on about their daily lives. God whispers to all – yes even to those in darkness – providing opportunity upon opportunity for all to visit His world and to repent for their own glory. God does not win when we repent, for God always wins. It is we who win – or lose – and therefore God whispers every day for us to have salvation, but we must, upon hearing, open our hearts and know that the wisdom He carries to us is one for our own betterment and salvation. If we do not carry those words forward into our lives then all is lost, and we cannot say ‘God did not hear.’

No, God heard and spoke, it was we who did not hear!

The crux of this message may seem harsh but it points out that we must be accountable for our own salvation. A Higher Power whispers and is ready to help: In fact, It’s speaking to us daily, but how often do we do our part. We must work for our salvation or for whatever it is that we desire to manifest, but we will only succeed if we allow a Higher Power to be a part of that process.

This message delivers a two-fold account for our salvation – and this salvation doesn’t mean for our immortal soul but rather salvation in the here and now. We must embrace Higher Wisdom and then have the power to solve our own problems based on those insights.

It is in relationship with a Higher Power that we find our answers!
