I am always humbled when I’m given simple insights that help me to see a challenging situation in a new way. Last night, this spiritually inspired lesson droned on inside my head all night long – no doubt so I wouldn’t forget it come morning. I share it with you now to see if it gets you thinking in a new way. I know it did for me!
Life is not about success or failure – it’s about momentum!
We are either moving forward, standing still, or sliding backwards.
Failure is a part of forward momentum, so you need to change your view on this.
If you aren’t failing, you aren’t gaining ground.
And remember, just because you have success doesn’t mean you can’t still slide backwards.
The goal is not success or failure but rather expansion, growth, and the fulfillment of one’s soul purpose.
I think this is a pretty clear lesson and one that is quite easy to comprehend. Personally, I have such a fear of failure that at times I push myself to hard or else freeze and refuse to move forward. Failure is something no one likes, including me. However, this much needed lesson assured me that failure is not the goal or even something to be avoided.
If the soul is to gain momentum and move forward, then it must include failure in that process.
So just ponder this simple yet easy concept and ask yourself a few of the following questions:
“Am I frozen in my soul’s momentum – stuck in a loop of non-accomplishment due to fear of failure?”
“Am I willing to embrace failure for the sake of my soul’s growth?”
“What else is preventing me from having forward momentum?”
“What would it look like if my soul’s momentum was actually going backwards and am I guilty of that in this moment?”
We’re all here in this life to move our soul forward – and I don’t mean to achieve some physical goal per se. Yes, achieving personal goals is indeed a part of our life plan, but what was also conveyed to me last night is that nothing else matters but the soul gaining what it needs from this lifetime of experience. We can NOT maximize our momentum and the full potential of this life if we are not willing to embrace all that comes our way – no matter how difficult or perhaps even seemingly unfair. For some, the achievement of success in conventional terms is irrelevant. It is the mastery of the self and its forward momentum that matters. That is the crux of this lesson.

Carol
